EMS TRAINING EXPLAINED:
Everything you need to know about electrostimulation
What is EMS Training?
EMS electrical muscle stimulation) or simply electrostimulation, is a WHOLE-BODY WORKOUT which uses the power of low-frequency electrical pulses to contract up to 90% of your muscles AT THE SAME TIME. As a result of this, our EMS sessions allow for a much more INTENSE and COMPLETE workouts than what they would with conventional training.
As EMS training is a whole body workouts, our sessions allow you to target ALL OF YOUR MUSCLES including those muscles not regularly trained and any WEAK-POINTS. It allows us to focus on ALL MAJOR MUSCLE GROUPS as well as UNDERLYING & SMALLER MUSCLES.

The application of EMS technology helps with toning, by stimulating more than 350 MUSCLES SIMULTANEOUSLY throughout your entire training session.

A typical training session runs for about 20 minutes in our suits, and is always guided by one of our qualified EMS personal trainers.
Training using electrostimulation has been SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN to be HIGHLY ADVANTAGEOUS in helping users with realising a number of training GOALS - including:

- WEIGHT-LOSS, specifically increasing fat-loss
- IMPROVED STRENGTH and gains in LEAN MUSCLE-MASS
- Corrects MUSCULAR IMBALANCES
- Reduces BACK-PAIN (including chronic back-pain)
- Lessens the appearance of CELLULITE.
Using our EMS training suits allows for a much more STRENUOUS and COMPLETE workout, in a FRACTION OF THE TIME when compared to conventional training. This is because our EMS suits activate significantly MORE MUSCLE FIBRES , in LESS TIME. This means your muscles are forced to work way harder, getting MAXIMUM RESULTS in just 20-minutes.

It feels like cheating – but it’s just way more efficient.
HOW DOES EMS WORK?
All of our muscles and muscle movements are activated through natural electrical nerve-impulses sent by our brain, via the spinal cord, to the rest of our body.
These electrical impulses act as signals that causes the activation of our muscle-fibres which causes our muscles to contract (or flex), - this is how exactly how movement is created!

EMS (Electronic Muscle Stimulation) hacks into this nervous system process by IMITATING these natural impulses, by directly applying an electrical current to the muscles, by way of electrodes placed directly onto the body - by way of an electrode-suit.

These electrical pulses are sent and managed by an EMS device controlled by one our qualified EMS Trainers - who monitor and adjust these impulses by selecting and modifying the frequency, intensity and length of these pulses.

These impulses – low and mid frequency – are completely harmless, and make it possible us to bring our muscles to near total contraction. Electrostimulation pushes our muscles by forcing them to micro-contract at an extreme rate of up to 80 times per second, this is substantially higher than anything achievable through conventional training methods such as weight-lifting or sport.

This means EMS sessions allows for MORE MUSCLES to be worked, and forces these muscles to work at their FULL INDIVIDUAL CAPACITIES.

The electrostimulation process:

1- Generation of the electrical stimulus by an EMS training machine.
2- The impulse propagates towards the electrodes located inside the suit.
3- Thanks to the electrodes, the muscles can receive the stimulus and in this way contract.

REDUCES CELLULITE
Exceeding Expectations
Specific Benefits Of EMS Training:
How these amazing results are achieved!
By consistently training with electrostimulation, one can expect to see the following changes to:
Our Muscles:
EMS training forces us to use more of our muscles, by activating more muscle-fibres in each muscle –
Multiple studies have shown that EMS training activates 90-95% of our muscle-fibres being worked, whereas traditional training results in an absolute maximum activation of only 60-70%
Our Joints:
As EMS doesn’t require any external loads (such as weights) to achieve this deep activation, there is a lot less strain put on our joints.
Our Tendons:
As discussed above, no external loads (or weight) is required for muscle activation, which means our tendons are also placed under minimal stress
As a result of this limited stress placed on joints and tendons, electrostimulation can very beneficial in aiding in injury prevention and injury recovery!

Our Cardiovascular system:
EMS training has shown to have a number of beneficial effects on our cardiovascular system,
including:
-
Reducing Blood pressure.
-
Improving circulation and increasing the blood flow to our muscles. -
-
Decreasing the formation of arterial clots which reduces the likelihood strokes, heart attacks and cerebral thrombosis
Posture & Back-Pain:
Electrostimulation is very beneficial in fixing our posture and any back-issues as it works our whole body, including those deep muscles, we often neglect!

EMS training does this by working our stabilizer muscles, which are responsible for maintaining our balance and posture.

Back-pain and other chronic issues are most commonly caused as a result of poor posture and body-positioning, and by correcting these, EMS has shown to greatly decrease any imbalances and reduce back-pain (and other issues).
Sense of Well-Being and Overall Happiness:
As well as the obvious improvements in self-esteem and confidence due to these positive body-changes, EMS training makes us happier, by effecting us on a hormonal level.
It does this by helping our brains release more of the key ‘happiness-hormones’ - Dopamine, Serotonin and Endorphins

These hormones are released during physical training in the following ways.

During (and immediately after) EMS training:
High intensity training, such as EMS, causes our brains to release more dopamine. And the more intense a workout is, the more dopamine is released. Dopamine is known to be responsible for regulating our happines and this increased dopamine results in us becoming more alert, focused and concentrated.
This added dopamine allows us to push our training limits and improve our performance.
After your electrostimulation session: Your body produces serotonin. Serotonin is known as and it also responsible for regulating body temperature, as well as adjusting any imbalances in your body’s nutritional cycle.
In addition these short, intense EMS sessions reduce the amount of cortisol in our bodies – the hormone responsible for stress.
By boosting and regulating these hormones and endorphins, electrostimulation has shown massive improvements in users happiness.
The Advantages of EMS vs
Conventional Training:
What We Do Best
n addition to the benefits as mentioned above, EMS training has a number of other CLEAR ADVANTAGES OVER CONVENTIONAL TRAINING, these include:

1) TIME SAVING – More efficient
Thanks to the power of electrostimulation, which allows us to simultaneously activate and train 350 muscles at the SAME TIME, we only require 20-minutes of training time to get the same results as more than 4-hours in the gym.

2) FASTER RESULTS
As a result of the high number of muscles activated and the intensity of this muscular-activation, one can expect to see MUCH SOONER than what they would with conventional training. This is because, as studies show, electrostimulation results in the activation of 95% of a muscle’s fibres compared to just the 60-70% achieved through conventional training
3) Activation of deep, stabilizer muscles
Electrostimulation training will allow us to activate muscles unthinkable with any other type of training. The deep fibers of the gluteus or the abdominal stabilizing layer (transverse abdominis muscle), among others, are muscles that are difficult to activate due to the depth at which they are found. Thanks to electrostimulation, we will be able to reach this type of deep and difficult to activate musculature, modifying the parameters such as the depth of the stimulus or pulse width in your EMS training equipment. Make sure to choose a professional equipment, to offer a quality service.
4) Injury Prevention
There are no additional loads, so you have no possibility of injuring yourself. However, there are many more physiological and chemical benefits than can be gained from this training method.
